Brian Smith
Brian has held marketing and business development positions at Cendant, TheStreet.com, and VarsityGroup. He has also consulted for fast growing start-ups such as FierceMarkets, MyFamily, and LogoWorks. Brian studied improvisation and sketch comedy at the Second City Conservatory in LA and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG). Brian holds a BA in Economics from Columbia University.
In addition to running SingleFeed, Brian is also the analyst for the shopping engine industry, through his blog, ComparisonEngines.com and helps merchants understand Data Feed Optimization (DFO) strategies through LoveYourFeed.com.
Colin Murphy
Colin is an internet and technology enthusiast who has held various client facing as well as product development positions at several early stage internet companies. Prior to joining SingleFeed he worked for the comparison shopping website Become.com where he developed and managed relationships with the company's largest partners. At Become.com Colin was also responsible for defining product features and functionality aimed at improving user experience and increasing revenue generation.
Colin holds a BA in Communication from Stanford University where he focused on emerging digital media. While at Stanford he was President of the Stanford Motorcycle Club and a member of the ski team. He enjoys film, food, photography, dogs and anything tech related.
Mason Jones
Mason has been involved in software development for over 20 years, working in areas from operating systems to web applications. After early work at Bell Northern Research, he began in web development in the mid-90s building travelocity.com. Since then he's managed engineering teams at a number of startups as well as companies like Nickelodeon Online. Before joining SingleFeed he headed the engineering department at a boutique software services firm, and managed the initial development at video advertising startup BlackArrow. Mason is also a professional musician with over a dozen albums released, and actively writes about music.
Ryan Douglas
Ryan graduated from California Baptist University in 2007 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Technology. Throughout his schooling, he worked at successful start-up online retailer PlumberSurplus.com as their Online Marketing Manager. There, he was responsible for website marketing leading to increased performance, and increased profits for multiple websites. He was one of the first three people in the company, which now employs nearly 30. He played an instrumental role in overseeing deployment of Google Checkout's third-party pixel tracking with comparison shopping engines, affiliate networks and other third parties. His educational background, network of contacts, and extensive experience in the small online business setting bring great value to the development of SingleFeed.
Ben Fowler
Ben has been in the online retail space for over 10 years. He has held customer service, sales, and management positions at many online retailers including 800.com, GoodGuys.com, and AperionAudio.com. Ben is currently studying Arts and Letters at Portland State University. Besides helping online retailers succeed on the shopping engines, Ben plays professional jazz saxophone and has produced and recorded his own CD.
Jonathan Thomas
Jonathan brings nearly 20 years of programming experience to SingleFeed, designing software and managing teams for Silicon Valley powerhouses like Hewlett-Packard and Exodus Communications, to name a few. His work has primarily focused on developing web-based enterprise monitoring and management systems, however, he has also delved into the digital media arena. Prior to SingleFeed, Jonathan served as CTO for Tedac Digital.
Rick Pufky
Rick Pufky went to the Rochester Institute of Technology to study Computer Engineering, graduating in 1999 with a BS degree. During study, he participated in a cooperative education program, through which he gained valuable work experience while still in school. After graduation, he accepted a position with a company he previously worked for in the coop program, Harris Communications, developing embedded software to control the functionality of military radios. While there, he worked on his MS in Computer Engineering, finally completing it in August 2006. He comes to SingleFeed with significant software engineering experience across several languages and the ability to apply engineering principles to the problems discovered in the field of data feed optimization. He also has several years of experience sysadmining Linux based servers and has applied that experience at SingleFeed as well.
